Providing Athletes with Service They Can Trust...For Years to Come
Four years ago, I received a call from a RE/MAX Realtor asking I assist one of his clients with his move to Cincinnati, after he signed a contract with the Cincinnati Bengals. I was surprised that, while he had an excellent sports agent who offered a variety of services, there was no program in place through his agency to offer assistance in the area of real estate. He was virtually on his own to make one of the major decisions impacting his life and, possibly, his career.
The services I offer to relocating athletes far exceed simply selling a home. Finding the perfect house wasn’t the only issue for this family who had very little knowledge of the Cincinnati area. There were concerns about school systems, proximity to the stadium, shopping, quick access to the airport, cultural, athletic and recreational facilities.
I was in close contact with his sports agent regarding financing options, purchase price and all the details that would result in a very satisfied client for both the sports agent and for me. After the sale, my support and assistance continued with recommendations for painters, babysitters, grocers, doctors and dentists. Months after we closed, I received a call from training camp asking for my help in ordering flowers for a special occasion. No problem!
My service to this client resulted in a referral to a Bengals’ draft choice the next year. And, these two clients then recommended my exceptional service to other teammates as well.
Whether it’s attending one of their charity events, recommending someone to install a high tech sound system or obtaining a building permit for a deck, I continue to offer my support. While the “deal” may be long over, the service to my client never ends. My past clients view me as a friend and resource rather than just the realtor who sold them their home.

In working with professional athletes it’s imperative the player’s family be satisfied with the choices being offered. As the old saying goes “If momma ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy”. And a player’s experience in any given city is directly related to how well his family adjusts to their new environment. When working with an athlete, I ensure that the entire family, including a beloved pet, is considered when selecting properties to view.
For the single athlete, I can offer a variety of options from young professional, urban areas with exciting nightlife, to condominiums or single family homes with river and city views. Regardless of familial status, I listen carefully to the lifestyle the athlete desires and set about fulfilling those needs.

For athletes relocating to other cities and countries, I offer a referral network that is unmatched in the industry. After interviewing the athlete I will personally contact a number of highly successful RE/MAX agents in that city to ensure the appropriate individual is selected to meet his needs. I will remain in contact with the athlete to ensure he is satisfied with the service he is receiving. I, as well as the assigned agent, will update his sport agents as often as the agent deems appropriate and work with both the athlete and sports agent regarding financing options and other monetary matters directly related to the purchase of property. As a team, we will provide the athlete with unparalleled service.
Other Services
I can assist with a wide variety of financing options in determining housing affordability. During the course of the transaction, I provide lists of qualified home inspectors, insurance companies, licensed repairmen, title companies and utility providers.
Should the athlete have a home to sell in his current city of residence, a RE/MAX agent will be assigned to assist in the sale. He will have the option to interview several agents, should he so desire. I’m available to offer any advice or counsel during the selection process as needed. Listing fees incurred by the seller range from 5-8%, depending upon the area and company’s policy.
We can also help with temporary rentals in metropolitan areas or refer the athlete to individuals who specialize in yearly or seasonal rentals. There is no charge for this additional service.
